Have leftover supplement bottles? Make your own DIY bird feeder with these instructions.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Empty doTERRA supplement bottle (we used a Lifelong Vitality Pack bottle)
  • Replenishing Body Butter lid
  • Drill
  • Paint of choice (optional)
  • Twine or rope
  • Wire (optional)
  • Glue gun
  • Bird seeds


INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Drill four equally spread apart holes in the bottom of the bottle.
    Note: Make sure the hole is big enough for a variety of seeds to pass through.
  2. Drill one hole in the center of the smaller lid.
  3. Optional Step: Paint the Body Butter lid and the entire bottle in desired colour.
  4. Make a loop of twine; pull both ends through the hole in the lid and tie a knot at the bottom so it doesn’t pull through.
  5. Glue the Body Butter lid to the bottom of the bottle.
  6. Optional Step: Wrap wire around the bottom of the twine for decoration.
  7. Open the lid and fill up the bottle with seeds, then hang it in your favourite spot.

Summer Kidney Bean and Corn Salad

• 400g canned red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
• 150g fresh sweetcorn kernels
• 1 small onion, diced
• 1 punnet cherry tomatoes, halved
• 2 drops doTERRA Lime essential oil
• 2 drops doTERRA Lemon essential oil
• 1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
• Large bunch fresh basil, finely chopped

 

Directions

1. In a large bowl, gently toss beans, sweetcorn, onion, tomatoes, Lemon and Lime essential oil. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Mix in basil just before serving.

Natural Air Freshener

099 DIY FRIDAYCommercial air fresheners can bring many unnatural aromas into your home. There are, however, completely safe and natural alternatives to help keep your home refreshed. Make your own air freshener that has only two ingredients—baking soda and essential oils!


Ingredients

  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • 5–6 drops favourite essential oil

 

Instructions

  • Put ¼ cup baking soda into a small Mason jar. Add 5–6 drops of your favourite doTERRA essential oil or blend.
  • Recommended Essential Oils: doTERRA Balance®, Cassia, Geranium, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemon, doTERRA On Guard®, Purify, or Wild Orange.
  • Put piece of fabric on jar and seal with jar band.
  • To keep an area smelling fresh, place jar on a solid surface and shake often to activate the fresh scent.
  • If scent starts to fade, simply add 2–3 drops of essential oil to jar.

Healthy Homemade Valentine’s Dark Chocolate

• 1 cup cocoa butter
• 1 tbsp coconut oil
• 1/4 – 1/2 cup raw honey
• 1 cup raw cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/8 tsp unrefined salt
• 2 drops doTERRA Wild Orange essential oil

 

Instructions

1. Gently melt cocoa butter and coconut oil in a double boiler
2. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in honey until completely smooth. Add cacao powder, vanilla, and salt. Mix again until well incorporated and smooth. Add Wild Orange essential oil
3. Pour chocolate into moulds (love heart moulds work great!) or baking dish. Place into fridge or freezer to harden for several hours.
4. Store at room temperature or in fridge.

Almond Orange Scrub

High in monoterpenes, Wild Orange oil is also known for its cleansing properties and invigorating aroma. Use this scrub in the shower, bath, or as an everyday hand cleanser and enjoy the benefits of smooth vibrant skin.
 

Ingredients

 
1 handful slivered almonds
1 orange peel
1 cup of doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil
3–5 drops doTERRA Wild Orange essential oil
 

Directions

Add almonds, orange peel, Fractionated Coconut Oil, and Wild Orange oil into a food processor and mix until ingredients are well combined. Store in an air-tight glass container and use 1–2 tablespoons as needed.
 
Note: Avoid contact with UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying citrus oils to the skin
