As many faithful consumers have discovered the unsurpassed quality of dōTERRA’s products, we have quickly risen to become the world’s largest essential oil company. This growth has allowed us to expand our reach to work closely with a broader demographic of aromatic plant producers and resin harvesters around the globe, all while ensuring we maintain the potency and therapeutic benefits of our essential oils. Through our Co-Impact Sourcing™ initiatives, we have recently established additional cooperative partnerships to work directly with harvesters from the horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula to harvest resin from their generations’ old frankincense trees, creating meaningful impact in the local economies. We are excited about these partnerships and our ability to create sustainable livelihoods for the hard-working people who harvest this treasured resin.

dōTERRA consistently seeks Frankincense that has the most therapeutic chemical profile available, found through its beautiful, rich aroma, powerful health benefits and supporting chemical profile. We are pleased to announce that through our additional sourcing partnerships, we have developed critical access to and ongoing sourcing agreements for the highest quality resin tears for three Boswellia species – Carterii, Frereana, and Sacra. We have also spent the last several years working with scientists to determine the ideal balance of each species to even further enhance our therapeutic chemical profile for this precious oil. Additionally, we have partnered with artisans who have fine-tuned and perfected the delicate distillation process. This synergistic combination of Boswellia species and perfected distillation process have allowed us to improve upon what we have always considered to be the world’s finest Frankincense. We are elated about the resin harvesting and sorting cooperatives we have formed in ancient lands where frankincense continues to grow today. We look forward to continuing our efforts to strengthen economies which need our help and support through our Co-Impact Sourcing™ programs. This responsible approach is the key to ensuring the long-term supply of therapeutic grade essential oils in our modern day.
